Rolls Royce Club drive to the Gosford Car Musem

Today I was fortunate enough to join the Rolls Royce club for their drive to the new Gosford Car Museum. I am not a member of the club but was invited by a friend who is. I had wanted to visit the new museum since it opened a few weeks ago and a drive up the old pacific highway with some Rolls Royce’s and Bentleys sounded like a great idea. They had a nice selection of cars, mostly Silver Shadows and Silver Spirits but also a 1930’s car (from memory a 25/30) and a couple of older Bentleys (an S […]

2015 Rolls Royce Owners Club Concours

I have always admired Rolls Royce and Bentley automobiles, and was impressed with the display at the British Car Show, so decided to go down and see the 2015 Rolls Royce Owners Club concours. The event was held at Linnwood House, which is a historic house located in Sydney’s western suburbs. The House has some very nice grounds that are perfect for holding a car show.

The show was worth the trip and despite early rain had a good showing of cars. As well as RROC, the Rover Club and the Daimler club had displays on, and was able […]

2014 ACT Terribly British Day

I had to be in Canberra today, so I swung by the 2014 ACT Terribly British Day. It was quite a nice little car show with a decent mix of British cars. I was glad to go as the Sydney show was rained out this year and I had not taken the 450SLC on a good road trip for a while.

Some of the cars I liked were a very original looking Bentley S1 Continental, a couple of nice Jaguar XK140 FHCs, and a former vice regal Rolls Royce Phantom V that took Sir William Kerr to make his announcement […]

Auto Collections Las Vegas

The Auto Collections Las Vegas bills itself as the worlds largest Classic car showroom. It is basically a classic car dealership that also allows the general public in to ‘view the collection’ for a fee. This means that the cars are changing (except for about 10% that are not for sale), and it is a nice escape from the smoky environments of Las Vegas. Savvy travelers can print out a free ticket from their website and skip the entrance fee, which I think is around $12. While the cars do change, having the entrance fees means that presumably they can […]
