Hello Juan,

I went with 3.07. The more I drive the car the more I really like this ratio. It allows me to use 4th for longer distance driving, but with a quick change back into 3rd for passing. 3rd is good for around town or winding roads.

Before the change, I would end up in 4th even around town, and 3rd was too short for long overtakes.

I've never had the transmission out of mine, so I don't know.

1967 OTS - California

Q1 - Can you tell me what gear ratios you upgraded to?

Q2 - I believe my second gear synchro is bad and I may need to upgrade it. Is there a way to remove the transmission without removing the engine?

I've had the vehicle for 35 years and it has been a fantastic and ironically very reliable vehicle. I did upgrade the alternator, electronic ignition, light weight high torque started, and aluminum radiator/header tank.

In advance, thank you so much for sharing you experiences.
