The light on my dash has always said brake fluid/handbrake, but never done anything on he handbrake. .

Great Photos!
I attended also, coming from Canberra, but “cheated” by trailering my car as it was only purchased 4 weeks ago and appears to have an alternator fault that I wasn’t able to fix in time.
I thought a 600k round trip may be a bit too ambitious in the circumstances.
However the car ran faultlessly around Bathurst on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
In my car the brake fluid warning light is also the handbrake warning light which comes on in my car sometimes and can be turned off by moving the handbrake lever a little.
