Towing work trailers around 450kg, fully loaded in the rear and with an assertive right foot keeping it in PER (Performance mode) Side shift from drive and not letting it go into 4th with the load mine is sitting on 15.4L/100. The new trans locks the torque convertor in 3rd gear and at 100km/h I am am sitting on 12-13L to the hundred, same as a petrol vehicle really saving 60c per litre. I have 2 BF mk III ex taxi wagons at 357,000 and 458,000 km and as my small business fleet cars they cant be beaten. Trailer off it costs about $12 to do 100km ac on and work gear in the back weighing a few 100 kg.

They were Taxi's over Holden Commodores for a damn good reason.
