C107 and C126 Production Figures

The C107 is a bit of an anomaly in the classic Mercedes-Benz range. On one hand it occupies the spot usually reserved for the S Class Coupe. On the other, it was created by lengthening the SL and turning it into a 2+2. This is probably why values were low for years and its only in the last 5-10 that people have started to appreciate the model.

107 107’s across the harbour bridge

2021 was fifty years since the introduction of the R107 and C107 models. The R107 would go on to be particularly long lived model, finally getting the axe in 1989. Despite being obviously old by then, it was still selling well right through the 80s.

R/C107 Differential Ratios

The R/C107 models had an extremely long production run – 18 years. There were a variety of different models and specification changes. This included the differential ratios that can have a big impact on the performance and economy of the vehicle.

It is hard to find somebody who prefers four door cars on aesthetic grounds. Sure, four door cars may be more practical, often cheaper to insure and easier to live with, but when buying a classic car, those considerations are not nearly as important.
