MBCNSW November 2023 Night Drive – Bilpin

Thursday was the annual MBCNSW Night Drive to Bilpin for Apple pie. This has turned into an annual event and despite being a very late night is always popular. It seems amazing that another year has flown by, as it doesn’t seem all that long ago that we did the last Bilpin night drive. On that drive, I swapped cars with a friend and drove his 450SE up to to Bilpin while he drove my 280SE. This time I was also behind the wheel of a 450, this time my 450SLC.

MBCNSW November 2022 night drive to Bilpin

Last night was the now annual night drive to Bilpin. On this drive, we start in Windsor and then up Bells Line of road to the Bilpin Apple Pie Cottage. The owner is a club member with a R107 and he opens up for us and serves apple pies and coffees.

The night drives are always more popular as we head into summer, and the night drive to Bilpin in particular is one people find fun, despite the very late night.

MBCNSW early December 2021 night drive to Bilpin

Last night was the first of two planned December night drives with the Mercedes Club. This was now the 3rd time we’ve run the drive to Bilpin. We did the route in May 2021 and November 2020. The drive is pretty simple. We meet at Windsor McDonalds and drive up to the Apple Pie Cottage at Bilpin. The Apple Pie Cottage is run by a club member who puts on coffees, apple pie and this time Pizza as well. Not only that but he is quite the comedian.

MBCNSW May 2021 night drive to Bilpin

Last night was the monthly MBCNSW May 2021 Night drive. This month we did a repeat of our very successful November 2020 drive to Bilpin. As with last time, we met in Windsor and then headed up to the Apple pie cottage for a late dessert.

November 2020 Night drive to Bilpin

The monthly late night drives are really starting to gain momentum. This month was a bit different. It started out as a Night drive to Bilpin. As well as a drive, we had late night dessert and coffee. Summer in Sydney is a great time for night drives. The weather is pleasant and its a great time for convertibles or sunroofs to be open.

MBCNSW Drive to Bilpin

Today I joined an event with the MBCNSW for a drive to Bilpin. Bilpin is to the West of Sydney and is half way up the Blue Mountains. It is know for its Apples. The purpose of the drive was to raise money for one of our club members, Sam. Sam is the proprietor of the Bilpin Apple Pie Cottage, our destination. He suffered quite a loss during the big fires last summer, losing buildings and part of his stock. It was then a long time before he could start trading again due to clean up.
